Setup and Objective
A pisces game begins on an empty hexagonal board. The standard size is 21 units in diameter. Black goes first, and then players take turns placing and moving stones on empty intersections (simply called “points”), attempting to surround territory and convert their opponent’s pieces. A point or group of empty points are territory if none of them can connect to an opponent stone via a contiguous path. The game is scored by territory and by stones on the board.
Playing the game
On your turn, you may place a stone on an empty point, move a stone to an adjacent point, or pass. After a movement, all opponent pieces adjacent to your stone are converted to your color.
A previous state of the board may never be repeated. You may not fill any 1-point territory.
Ending the game
If both players pass consecutively, the game is over and territory is counted. Alternatively, one player may voluntarily forfeit at any time. A player’s score is the sum of their stones plus their territory; white (player 2) gets a bonus of 7 points.
